Ivy is a singer/actress/voice over artist from NJ, and Owner of Ivy Elizabeth Studios. She began her vocal training with internationally recognized vocal coach Mr. Robert Edwin (ASCAP) and continued to train classically at Mason Gross School of the Arts in New Brunswick, NJ, under the expertise of former Opera singer Mrs. Valorie Goodall, graduating in 1997 with a degree in Voice Performance. She has continued her education with private classes and study in the Meisner technique in Acting and in Voice-over production, finished her Certification in The Kodaly Method (a Hungarian concept of music education) from the Potomac Arts Academy at George Mason University in the summer of 2014, and recently graduated from Liberty University with her Master of Arts in Music and Worship Studies.
As a performing artist, she has performed in Europe and in many areas of the East Coast, including sharing a stage with the late Rosemary Clooney and Debbie Boone at the Valley Forge Music Fair. Her work includes experience in musical theater, opera, concerts, comedy and drama, and various film. More than just a performer, Ivy has been a director, musical director, dialect coach, and choreographer for various productions as well as a stage manager, Drama Instructor, Modeling and Television Instructor and general go-to gal.
Ivy recorded an 8 song CD with her former band "Original Synergy" in 2013, and was the Lead Singer for the former Alternative/Hard Rock band "End of Silence". She also worked with the "Steele Rose Band" as Lead Singer covering Classic Rock, Blues, Country and more. She is currently working with Songwriter and Producer Todd Wright, from HalfKing Music, on original music will be released and recording as songs are written. More information to follow.
In the Spring of 2014 she joined the cast of "Shotgun Mythos", a Web TV series and winner of DC Web Fest iTV Young Guns Award, as Nessa with Growth Media Productions. Shooting for "Song of Summer", a stand alone feature for Shotgun Mythos, was done in November of 2014. However, the series rebooted and joined with 20/20 Productions, and she was asked to step into the role of Nimue. The cast was nominated at the DC Capital Indie Awards for Best Ensemble in a Web Series. More on the screen, Ivy finished shooting the role of Michelle in the Christian Walk Alive Productions short film, "Masquerade", and went on to portray a Waitress in a full feature film, "A Clean Exit", with Growth Media Productions (Best Action Film of the Year with Action On Films Film Festival Awards). Ivy performed in and Music Directed a part of a Web Series, "Two Bits Radio," also with Growth Media Services, and worked on their feature film "Fat Guy with a Shotgun" as a lounge singer.
On the stage, she recently portrayed the role of Becca in Rabbit Hole with FCT in Warrenton, VA, earning her the Lofty Award for Best Actress in a Play (2020). She has been seen in the role of Louise Seger in "Always, Patsy Cline" also at FCT in Warrenton,and received the Lofty for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical (2017). She has also been seen as Bertha Mason in "Jane Eyre, The Musical" for which she was nominated for a Lofty Award for Outstanding Cameo in a Musical (2016). She also performed the roles of Rona Lisa Peretti/Olive's mom in "The 25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee" for which she received the Lofty for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical 2016 (Rona) and the Lofty for Outstanding Cameo in a Musical 2016 (Olive's Mom). Ivy also earned a WATCH nomination for her portrayal of Olive's moom in "25th Annual Putnam Co. Spelling Bee." Ivy is currently preparing a Cabaret to perform at Retirement Facilities, Wineries, and the like, while also learning the Ukulele, Bass guitar, Ocarina, and brushing up on Keys.
When not teaching, practicing, or performing, Ivy is a worship leader with her church’s worship team. She has been teaching for over 20 years, coaching many individuals and groups within multiple organizations and age levels, and loves every minute she spends with her students. She was the Performing Arts Director for Ad Fontes Academy (a k-12 Classical Christian School) from May of 2013 thru June of 2015, and Music Teacher for Ambleside School (a K-8 Charlotte Mason School) from Fall of 2010 thru June of 2013. Ivy looks forward to sharing her love and passion for the arts to all she comes into contact with.
